Meeting with Françoise Nyssen
From Arles to the Goncourt Prize. The Foundations of Actes Sud's Success
By Françoise Nyssen, former Minister of Culture and former director of Actes Sud.
L’Inguimbertine had the honor of welcoming Françoise Nyssen, who, on Saturday, March 1st, retraced the unique journey of the publishing house Actes Sud.
Completely independent, the Actes Sud group is now managed by the third generation of the Nyssen family: Julie Gautier, Anne-Sylvie Bameule, and Pauline Capitani.
The former Minister of Culture and current President of the Avignon Festival spent nearly an hour and a half recounting the history of the renowned publishing house, where she worked for more than forty years. She portrayed the deep conviction of the publishing profession: sharing remarkable literary works with as many readers as possible, including novels by Paul Auster and the Millennium saga.
Didier Bonnet, from the Librairie de l’Horloge in Carpentras, also took the stage to present the book supply chain. Before and after their publication, written works follow a whole journey.
