Multimedia library

Tuesday to Friday: 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Mondays and public holidays: closed.

Library museum

April to October: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on Mondays)
November to March: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on Mondays)
January, 1 May and 25 December: closed.

Study room Kareen Mane

 Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 12 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.; Saturday: 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Normal entry fee: €8 (without temporary exhibitions) or €12 (during temporary exhibitions)
Discounted entry fee*: €5 (without temporary exhibitions)or €8 (during temporary exhibitions)

  • 3 people: €15 (without temporary exhibitions) or €22 (during temporary exhibitions)

Free entry

  • Entry is free on the first Sunday of every month for holders of subscription cards for the multimedia library
  • For children under 11 years
  • For holders of a European Youth Card, ICOM (International Council of Museums) card, or conference guide card
  • During the European Night of Museums and European Heritage Days.

Audio guides and video guides

  • General visits: Available for free in English, German, Italian, Provençal, Arabic, Hebrew, and French Sign Language
  • Themed visits: €2

All tickets are valid for one day.
* People aged 12 to 25 years, groups of 8 people or more, people with disabilities (with a disability card), people receiving social welfare**, holders of the Culture pass, beneficiaries of partnerships as part of joint agreements

With an annual membership, you can come back as often as you like!

Unguided visits: Free
Accompanied visits (with a guide or workshop): Free for schools in Carpentras and €4 per child for schools outside of Carpentras.

How to get to the library museum

You can easily reach Carpentras by following the A7 motorway. You can join the motorway via the fast lane at Avignon Nord, exit 23 (15 minutes), or Orange Sud, exit 22 (20 minutes).

Car parks

You have a choice of six free car parks:

  • The “Platanes” car park (638 spaces),
  • The car park at the tourist information office (56 spaces – 1.5 hour parking disc),
  • The “Général Khelifa” car park (121 spaces),
  • The “Terradou” car park (12 spaces),
  • The car park at the train station (247 places)
  • The car park at the “coulée verte” park (305 spaces), from which you can discover the old town and its rich architectural heritage at your leisure.
     

The library museum is 500 m from the bus station (270 Av. de la Gare, 84200 Carpentras) which is served by the Trans’Cove and Zou! (bus networks)

By train, the main train station of Avignon is only 38 minutes away on the ‘TER’ regional train network; from Avignon, most major cities in France and other European countries can be reached.

The Ventoux Provence aerodrome (ICAO code: LFNH) is 6 km away from the Hôtel-Dieu.
